(107) Amending Section 1211.5. Section 1211.5 is amended by changing the third sentence <br />to read: <br />"Plastic gas piping shall have at least twelve (12) inches (.3m) of <br />earth cover or other equivalent protection." <br />(108) Deleting Section 1211.6. <br />Section 1211.6 is deleted. <br />(109) Amending Section 1211.10. Section 1211.10 is amended to read: <br />"1211.10 Ground -joint unions may only be used at exposed <br />fixture, appliance, or equipment connections and in exposed <br />exterior locations immediately on the discharge side of a building <br />shutoff valve. Heavy duty flanged type unions may be used in <br />special cases, when first approved by the administrative authority. <br />Bushings shall not be used in concealed locations." <br />(1 10) Amending Section 1212.0. Section 1212.0 is amended by adding to the end of <br />Exception condition (5) the following sentence: <br />"Semi -rigid aluminum tubing shall not be used as an appliance <br />connector." <br />(I 11) Amending Section 1213.6. Section 1213.6 is amended to read: <br />"1213.6 Liquefied petroleum gas piping shall not serve any gas appliance <br />located in a pit or basement where heavier than air gas might collect to form a <br />flammable mixture." <br />(112) Adding Section 1213.10. Section 1213.10 is added to read: <br />"1213.10 Liquified Petroleum Gas Cylinder Tank Facilities more <br />than twenty -four (24) inches in vertical height, shall be secured <br />against seismic movements within the upper top one -third (1 /3) of <br />its vertical dimensions." <br />(113) Amending Section 1214.1. Section 1214.1 is amended to read: <br />"1214.1 Leaks in gas piping shall be located by applying soapy <br />water to the exterior of the piping, or by use of approved or listed <br />gas detecting devices." <br />W <br />
