(114) Amending Section 1216.4. Section 1216.4 is amended to read: <br />"1216.4 The size of the supply pipe outlet for any gas appliance <br />shall be not less than the size of the inlet connection of that <br />appliance. <br />The minimum size of any piping outlet shall be three - quarter inch <br />for a freestanding gas range using synthetic natural gas and shall <br />be one -half (1/2) inch for a recessed oven section, a recessed top <br />section, or for a freestanding range using L.P.G." <br />(115) Amending Section 1217.3. Section 1217.3 is amended to read: <br />"217.3 For conditions other than those covered by Section 1217. 1, <br />such as commercial, industrial and multiple units which require <br />longer runs or greater gas demands, the size of each gas piping <br />system shall be determined by standard engineering methods <br />acceptable to the administrative authority." <br />(116) Amending Section 1218.6. Section 1218.6 is amended by amending the first sentence <br />to read: <br />"Approved engineering methods or Tables 12 -5 and 12 -6, when <br />corrected for the specific gravity of the gas utilized, may be used to <br />size gas piping systems carrying three (3) to five (5) psig (20.7 or <br />34.5 kPa) gas." <br />(117) Amending Section 1218.8. Section 1218.8 is amended by deleting "eighteen (18) <br />inches (457.2 mm)" and inserting in lieu thereof "twelve (12) inches (304.8 mm)" <br />(I 18) Adding Section 1219.0. Section 1219.0 is added to read: <br />"1219.0 Allowable Pressure Drop <br />The design pressure loss in any piping system under maximum <br />probable flow conditions, from the point of delivery to the inlet <br />connection of the gas utilization equipment, shall be such that the <br />supply pressure at the equipment is greater than the minimum <br />pressure required for proper equipment operation." <br />39 <br />
