Congratulations to Roann Okamura as <br />she is assigned to fill the EAD Director position as well as taking care of Kamana Senior Center. <br /> <br />Elderly Recreation Services and Special Programs are combining staff and duties, but will still bring the <br />events and activities you so enjoy. Just take a look at the sports events, class and club activities that took <br />place during the past few months. More to come with the 29th Annual Kupuna Hula, Ground Golf in Kona <br />and Nā‘ālehu, West Hawai‘i Prime Time Wellness Fair and a Hawaiian-style Christmas event. <br /> <br />Mahalo for the great support for our classes, clubs and activities. <br /> <br />Call our offices at: Hilo 961-8710, Kea‘au 966-5801 and Kona 323-4330 for more information about our <br />programs or visit us online at co.hawaii.hi.us <br /> <br /> <br />SUMMER FUN WORKSHOP <br /> <br />Fun way to keep your mind sharp and body fit? <br /> Answer: Line Dancing <br /> <br />A rootin’ tootin’ time at Aunty Sally’s as big Island dancers from Kona to Volcano practiced <br />forty mass dances for our trip to Maui’s 2nd Line Dance Roundup. <br /> <br />Thanks to instructors Juanita Allen and Sandy Sumida who lead the workshop. <br /> <br />Big Islanders Line Dancers Strutt’in & Stompin’ on Maui <br /> <br /> <br />Dance! Eat! Dance! Eat! <br />What a way to have fun as 35 Big Island seniors from Hilo, Kea‘au and Volcano joined groups <br />from Honolulu and Maui at the 2nd Maui Line Dance Roundup held at the Kihei Community Center. <br /> <br />Kupuna News 5 October - December 2011 <br />
