CHR. SIRACUSA: Let's start off first with October. It seems that our first decision that we have to make is whether, in addition to the nine public hearings we are going to have in October, if we want to squeeze in at least one regular meeting, or even two regular meetings. I would like to hear how the Commissioners feel about that. That is really demanding a lot of your time, so I would like to know what your take is. MS. UGALDE: If we are to have one, it seems to me October 21" is a Friday after all of the public meetings we just had, and it might be a good time to review. CHR. SIRACUSA: Is there a location available on Friday, October 21 Sty MS. EOFF: Yes, I will go double check; but Friday the 21" is clear for the Council Chambers. CHR. SIRACUSA: How do the rest of the Commissioners feel about that? MR. CARVALHO: It's good for me too, I like the idea of meeting after all the public meetings. CHR. SIRACUSA: Is the morning okay, like today, 10:00 a.m.? MR. CARVALHO: That's excellent. CHR. SIRACUSA: Mike and Patrick how does that work for you? MR. MIDDLESWORTH: It's fine for me. MR. KAHAWAIOLA`A: It appears so. Would we have completed with all the public hearings? CHR. SIRACUSA: Yes, we would have finished them the day before. MR. KAHAWAIOLA`A: Then that is probably the best thing to do, to have our regular meeting on that day, because there is a short window to the submission on November 10, 2011. Ms. Ugalde moved to schedule a regular meeting of the Redistricting Commission on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 am. Seconded by Mr. Melrose and carried by the following vote: Ayes: Commissioners Carvalho, Kahawaiola` a, Kanuha, Melrose, Middlesworth, Poindexter, Ugalde, and Chair Siracusa. Noes: None. Absent: Commissioner Kahui. CHR. SIRACUSA: We have the Draft Plan deadline as November 10, 2011. We have two weeks prior to that when we can fit in another meeting if the Commission chooses to do so. 10
