Karen just walked away and she's the one with the calendar.
UDOVIC: The County is on furlough on Friday the 4th of November and then Veteran's Day is
November 11th so there are a couple of times when County employees won't be working.
CHR. SIRACUSA: What about October 28th? Too close to the previous week.
MR. MELROSE: We could do it in the morning on a Thursday. I think it's important that we
have one more meeting scheduled before that deadline. If we haven't figured that out yet, then
we will need the time. So, if not the 4th then the 3rd or the 7th would work.
MS. EOFF: Thursday, November 3rd is okay, and the following Thursday, November 10th
CHR. SIRACUSA: Do we have a space available/
MS. EOFF: Yes, we do.
CHR. SIRACUSA: Does 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3rd work for everybody?
MS. UGALDE: I'll be on Oahu.
MR. KANUHA: Question; are these all in Hilo?
MS. EOFF: I think they could be in either Hilo or Kona. We also have to consider the date for
the two public hearings; probably in the following week, the 17th and 18th one Hilo and one Kona.
MR. MELROSE: So the answer to your question is that they are available in both places and it's
just the timing for the meetings.
MS. EOFF: I don't think we have to decide the location today; if we can just set the dates, I can
reserve the rooms and at a future meeting we can decide.
MR. KANUHA: That sounds good.
Mr. Melrose moved to schedule a regular meeting
of the Redistricting Commission on Thursday,
November 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Seconded by
Ms. Poindexter and carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Commissioners Carvalho, Kahawaiola` a,
Kanuha, Melrose, Middlesworth,
Poindexter, Ugalde, and Chair Siracusa.
Noes: None.
Absent: Commissioner Kahui.
11
