D- Very poor... widespread loitering, and the homelessness problem is growing. D- Way too many street people and drug sales are openly tolerated - even in front of the banks. Tourists are accosted by "Wanna buy some herb ?" Traffic — infrastructure (sidewalk, roads, lighting and signage) 1 -130 to kalapana needs more passing lanes and 137 should be widened and allow passing. Otherwise people just pass anyway and risk everyone's lives. I- Again pedestrians and bikes are at risk. I- And sidewalks for pedestrians. I- Besides walking and biking paths seem to be fairly safe I- bicycle paths marked I- Boardwalks are not safe at all. Lawsuit waiting to happen. I- bus stops with cross walks I- Cheap transportation. I- create roundabouts so no more death due to each of legislator Faye H. not going forward I- Dangerous intersection at 130 /Kahakai Blvd. Why does Right Turn yield to Left turn here? I- do not allow cars to think they are king of the road, we must share our roads with bikes, strollers, pedestrian, etc. I- geothermal should not be near to residents. buffer and safety zones need to be established. I- Good except at night, maybe better lighting for roads? I- Highway 130 is way to dangerous - how about a center divider? I- Highway 137 has no alternate routes in case of tsunami for many residents and visitors I- Highway accidents prevail. Rte. 130 curves at the 3 major intersections, at high school, at Kahakai, and into the shopping center, creating optical illusions and drivers are unaware of oncoming traffic until it's too late. Lots of accidents at those intersections. I- Highway and road through town are dangerous for pedestrians, bicyclists, motor cyclists, and in some areas autos and other vehicles. I- Horrible! Bad intersections bad walk ways. I- I feel comfortable in my community, but roads are too narrow, need more lighting, shoulders, paths I- I feel safe in this area but again some of the drivers really need to be stopped and advised they really need to slow down. I- I feel safe, but I don't live IN Pahoa. The traffic in town goes slowly enough -- not a problem. #1 safety issue to me is that intersection with Kahakai and the by -pass road and the mess between KFC /Longs /Aloha gas. I- Improving sidewalks and pedestrian and traffic signs would help. I- Inadequate sidewalks, no bike paths I- intersection at Long's Drugs I- more street lighting and discouraging people hanging out on the streets. I- more street lights.
