PCDP Goal, objective & Action Items <br />3.3.3 a. Develop a centrally located, 24- <br />hour, full- service medical facility, with <br />trauma care, in Puna. <br />3.4.3 b. Improve and expand Community <br />� Parks as follows: <br />2) Pahoa Regional Park: (Various <br />i improvements) <br />Progress Update <br />• The Puna Community Medical Center was <br />granted approval in concept for their <br />application for along -term lease of 5 acres of <br />state land on Hwy. 130 approximately 3/a of a <br />mile north of Malama Marketplace where <br />PCMC plans to expand their current urgent <br />care clinic to include a 24 -hour emergency <br />room as a first step towards establishing a <br />comprehensive medical center. Malama O <br />Puna is in the process of preparing an <br />Environmental Assessment prerequisite to <br />securing the lease from the DLNR. <br />• The PRTCP SC initiated and hosted two <br />roundtable discussions with identified current <br />and potential stakeholders in the medical <br />services community that might contribute to a <br />collaborative approach to improving access to <br />medical services in Pahoa. <br />• Nanawale Community Association has <br />enlisted four of the six volunteer firepersons <br />necessary to establish the station. <br />t <br />i <br />I• <br />■ <br />i <br />i . 0 <br />AC, letter sent to Parks & Recreation outlining <br />yet to be completed improvements and <br />maintenance issues at Ahalanui and .Isaac <br />Hale Beach Parks and recommendations for <br />additional improvements needed to address <br />safety concerns. <br />$13.492 million appropriated in FY 2013 -14 <br />CrIP Budget for Ahalanui and Isaac Hale <br />Parks. <br />Parks and Recreation resentedyconceptual <br />P P <br />master plan for the expansion of Pahoa Park <br />to the community on September 10. <br />The PRTCP SC, met with P&R officials to <br />express some concerns with the conceptual <br />plan and to offer recommendations for the <br />park development that would make it more <br />compatible with the emerging community <br />vision. <br />$20 million appropriated in FY 2013 -14 C`'IP <br />Budget for Pahoa Park expansion. <br />10 <br />
