2.353.4 <br />DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL SERVICE <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYST IV <br />SR 22; BU 13 <br />Duties Summary: <br />Analyzes, designs, and develops information systems relative to information <br />needs of specific programs and activities of a department(s) or within a major <br />functional area of information technology; develops information technology systems <br />and other work procedures for the automation of processes and the production of <br />data; develops plans for the implementation and support of recommended systems <br />and processes; and performs other related duties as required. <br />Distinauishina Characteristics: <br />As the journey level information systems analyst, this class functions <br />independently under general supervision in performing information systems analysis <br />work involving a wide range of problems relative to the information needs of specific <br />programs and activities of a department(s) or within a major functional area, such as <br />database administration, network services, or operating systems. <br />Examples of Duties: )The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive <br />of any one position in this class. The omission of specific duties statements does not preclude <br />the assignment of such duties if they are a logical assignment for the position and are <br />consistent with the class concept.) <br />• Formulates plans for the conduct of studies relating to the various work processes <br />and procedures that may be converted to information technology systems. <br />• Reviews records; interviews management personnel and employees. <br />• Observes work methods and flow of work to secure necessary data. <br />• Consolidates data; assesses and evaluates work processes and procedures that <br />can be eliminated or consolidated. <br />• Determines the feasibility of mechanizing various work processes and procedures; <br />determines the kinds of information systems required. <br />• Develops and prepares detailed plans and procedures for implementing new <br />systems. <br />• Designs forms for review and implementation by agencies concerned. <br />INFORMATION SYSTEMS ANALYST IV -2- <br />Hawai'i County is an Equaf opportunity Provider andEmplover. <br />ATT.
