t <br />• <br />• <br />(b) Sho Dr rims - The Contractor shall prepare, thoroughly check, and <br />submit to the Engineer such shop drawings as may be required to show <br />in detail all parts of the permanent work. In the case of rcadV, <br />parking area and stream improvement contracts the shop drawings <br />shall include but not necessarily be limited to cribs, cofferdams, <br />falsework and centering and other items as may be required and <br />requested by the Engineer. In the case of building contracts, shop <br />drawings shall include falsework, bracing, formwork, masonry layouts, <br />design and bending diagrams of reinforcement bars, and diagrams for <br />concrete reinforcement. Shop drawings for structural steel and mill- <br />work shall consist of fabrication details, erection drawings and <br />other working plans necessary to show the details, dimensions, sizes <br />of members, anchor bolt plans and other information necessary far the <br />complete fabrication and erection. The Contractor shall also f4rnish, <br />where necessary or required or as requested by the Engineer, shop <br />drawings showing information on the details and dimensions for all <br />miscellaneous installations of material or equipment furnished a d <br />installed by the Contractor. <br />The Contractor shall submit six (6) complete sets of all shop draws <br />for approval. Full compensation for furnishing the six (6) sets of <br />shop drawings shall be considered as included in the prices paid for <br />the various contract items of work, and no additional allowance :till. <br />be made therefor. <br />(0) <br />It is the responsibility of the Contractor to submit shop drawings <br />for approval as required at the earliest possible date after the <br />date of Notice to Proceed in order to meet their construction <br />schedule. Delays caused by the failure of the Contractor to suit <br />shop drawings will not be considered as justifiable reasons for <br />contract time extension. <br />It shall be expressly understood that approval by the Engineer of <br />the Contractor's shop drawings does not relieve the Contractor of <br />any responsibility for accuracy of dimensions and details and fa. - <br />mutual agreement of dimensions and details and for agreement and <br />conformity of shop drawings and the contract plans. It is further <br />understood that the approval by the Engineer of the Contractor's <br />shop drawings, whether general or detailed, is a general approvar <br />relating only to their sufficiency and compliance with the inten- <br />tion of the contract and shall not excuse or constitute a waiver <br />of errors, discrepancies or omissions. <br />Descriptive Sheets - The Contractor shall submit to the Engineer <br />six (6) complete sets of descriptive sheets such as brochures, <br />catalogs, illustrations, etc., which will completely describe the <br />material, product, eauipment, furniture or appliances to be used <br />in the project as shown in the plans and specifications. It is <br />the responsibility of the Contractor to submit descriptive sheets <br />for approval as required at the earliest possible date after the <br />Section 5 <br />Page 19 <br />
