Delays caused by the failure of the Contractor to <br />submit descriptive sheets as required will not be considered as <br />justifiable reasons for contract time extension. <br />(d) Material Samples d Color 5 les - The Contractor shall submit <br />to the Engineer samples of the materials and color selection <br />samples. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to submit <br />material and color samples for approval as required at the <br />earliest possible date after the date of notice to proceed in <br />order to meet their construction schedule. Delays caused by the <br />failure of the Contractor to submit material and color samples <br />will not be considered as justifiable reasons for contract time <br />extension. <br />.1. COORDINATION OF CONTRACT DOCUMENTS - These General. Requirements and <br />Covenants, plans, proposals, special provisions, technical specifications, <br />change orders, addenda and amendments are essential parts of the contract, and <br />a requirement occurring in one is as binding as occurring in all. They are <br />intended to be correlative and to describe and provide for a complete work. <br />Where no figures or memoranda are given, the drawings shall be follofaed <br />accurately according to scale, subject to the approval of the Engineer. In <br />any case of discrepancies in the figures or drawings, the discrepancies shall <br />be immediately referred to the Engineer without whose decision said discrepancy <br />shall not be adjusted by the Contractor save only at his own risk; and in the <br />settlement of any complications arising from such adjustment without the <br />consent of the Engineer, the Contractor shall bear all extra expense involved. <br />In case of discrepancy, figured dimensions shall govern over scaled dimensions; <br />technical specifications shall govern over plans; special provisions and <br />proposal shall govern over the General Requirements and Covenants. <br />Where detailed drawings are shown, they will govern insofar as methods <br />of construction that are not described in the specifications. All drawings on <br />a scale of 3/8" to the foot or over shall be considered detail drawings. <br />Schedules for interior work shall also be considered detail drawings. <br />Within the plan itself, if there is a conflict between the architectural <br />sheets and the mechanical or electrical or structural sheets, etc., the <br />conflict shall be considered a discrepancy and the Contractor shall immediately <br />refer same to the Engineer for a decision. <br />5.5 INTERPETATION•AF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS - Should it appear that the <br />work to be done or any of the mutters relative thereto are not sufficiently <br />detailed or explained in the plans and specifications, the Contractor shall <br />apply to the Engineer for such further explanations as may be necessary and <br />shall conform to same as part of the contract, so far as may be consistent with <br />the original plans and specifications; and in the event of any doubt or <br />questions arising respecting the true meaning of the plans and specifications, <br />reference shall be made to the Engineer whose decision thereon shall be final. <br />Section 5 <br />Page 20 <br />
