• <br />• <br />The inspection of the work shall not relieve the Contractor of any of his <br />obligations to fulfill his contract as prescribed: and defective work shall -be <br />made good and unsuitable materials may be rejected, notwithstanding that such <br />defective work and materials have been previously overlooked by the Engineer <br />and accepted or estimated for payment. <br />Projects requiring inspection by the County Planning Department, County <br />Department of. Water Supply, State Department of Health, State Department of <br />Transportation, State Fire Marshall and other agencies shall be subject to the <br />respective inspection at all times and their respective rules and regulations <br />shall be complied with. <br />Projects financed in whole or in part with Federal funds shall be subject <br />to inspection at all times by the Federal Agency involved and its rules and <br />regulations shall: be complied with. <br />.9 REMOVAL OF DEF CTIVE UN THOEI ORI{ - All work which has been <br />rejected shall be remedied or removed and replaced by the Contractor in an <br />acceptable manner and no compensations will be allowed him for such removal <br />or replacement. Any work done beyond the work limits shown on the plans and <br />specifications or established by the Engineer or any additional work done <br />without written authority will be considered as unauthorized and will not be <br />paid for. Work so done may be ordered removed at the Contractor's expense. <br />Upon failure on the part of the Contractor to comply promptly with any order <br />of the Engineer made under the provisions of this subsection, the Engineer <br />shall have authority to cause defective work to be remedied or removed and <br />replaced and unauthorized work to be removed and to deduct the costs from any <br />monies due or to become due the Contractor. <br />.10 FINAL MNSPECTION - Upon notification to the Engineer in writing by the <br />Contractor that the project is complete and is ready for final inspection, <br />the inspectors will briefly inspect the work. If they find that the work is <br />ready for a final inspection, they will schedule a formal final inspection by <br />the Engineer which shall be held within ten (10) days after receiving notice <br />from the Contractor. If, however, the inspectors find that the project is <br />not ready for final inspection, a final inspection will not be scheduled; and <br />the Contractor shall be responsible to correct the faults found after which <br />time he shall again notify the Engineer in writing that the project is ready <br />for final inspection. <br />If upon final inspection the Engineer finds that all materials have <br />been furnished, the work has been satisfactorily performed and the construc- <br />tion provided for by the contract has been completed in accordance with the <br />contract, he will declare the project satisfactorily completed and accept the <br />work. If upon final inspection the Engineer does not so find, the Contractor <br />shall correct the faults found after which he shall again notify the Engineer <br />in writing that the project is ready for final inspection. <br />Section 5 <br />Page 24 <br />
