It's <br />3 worth it to the community, and it's worth it for your own <br />4 career. <br />5 But at some point in time you come to this point <br />6 where you take your beginning salary and you plug it into the <br />7 Department of Labor's inflation calculator, and you take the <br />8 salary that you retired at in 2012, and you say, you know <br />9 what, I made three thousand more dollars over twenty years <br />10 than when I started. That will cause people to leave. <br />11 And people are leaving. And it's unfortunate that <br />12 they're leaving because we're losing real talent. Those four <br />13 people that were on that list, Kimberly Taniyama, Chris <br />14 Schlueter, Jeff Burleson, and the other one who escapes me <br />15 right now, they were top -line prosecutors. And did we <br />16 replace them? Yes, we replaced them. But you can't replace <br />17 fifty years of experience overnight. It just doesn't work. <br />18 And when they're looking at the salaries and <br />19 whether or not they're going to make it a career, they can <br />20 take the sixty-five hour weeks. He puts in seventy. I know <br />21 that. He puts in seventy. I tell him all the time, go home. <br />22 Because it's not worth losing a spouse because you love your <br />23 job. No. It's not.
