SAKO: That's been -- anytime the <br />3 employees get raises and the department heads don't, <br />4 you are probably going to get into that situation <br />5 again. I mean, because it was like 2008, many of the <br />6 department heads had raises, so -- but at the same <br />7 time, you know, that was also the period when we were <br />8 having the recession, so most employees did furloughs. <br />9 The department heads participated in that as well. And <br />10 so it's only really been the last few years in the last <br />11 contract period where, you know, the raises started to <br />12 go up again. <br />13 So, yes, I think we're back to the -- if <br />14 the -- either the Salary Commission meets more often or <br />15 they tie it into collective bargaining unit raises, and <br />16 I -- not to speak for him, but I think what Mr. Pavao <br />17 was saying was that if SHOPO got a 5 percent raise, <br />18 that the police chief would also get a 5 percent raise. <br />19 So if you guys did something like that, that would also <br />20 help to, I guess, try to minimize the inversion impact <br />21 in the future. <br />22 MR. PAVAO: And, if I may say, doing something <br />23 like that will make your job a whole lot easier. <br />24 MS.
