The <br />full text is provided to the libraries. We have it in the Kona office. We have it at the <br />Clerk's Office, if people want to go through the whole text, but the Clerk's Office has <br />been providing summaries of the budgets, otherwise it would be very costly if we had to <br />run the full text for all parties. <br />• <br />IRVINE: Has anybody objected? <br />TAKAHASHI: Not so far, 1 don't believe so. We have a few for those who really <br />want it. <br />IRVINE: Sounds like you're doing an adequate job. <br />TAKAHASHI: It's not that many people that request the full text. <br />RAY: So this would just bring the Charter in compliance with what we're <br />doing. <br />TAKAHASHI: Yes, but, like I say, it's happening now so if you're not comfortable, <br />I don't think it needs to be addressed. <br />RAY: Gary. <br />YOSHIYAMA: Addressing the matter of cost, Harry, then providing this copies of <br />the summary, or the entire budget document, do you charge? <br />TAKAHASHI: Not for legislation that's before the Council. Those copies are free. <br />YOSHIYAMA: By what authority? <br />TAKAHASHI: Because, I believe, by the State law, you need to make copies <br />available. <br />IRVINE: It is taxpayer money that paid for those documents, in the first <br />place. <br />TAKAHASHI: I think no different, like the State Legislature, they don't charge you <br />for copies of proposals before them. However, if you want copies of the law, something <br />that's passed, then there are charges for that. <br />YOSHIYAMA: 1 was just reading something from the Office of Information that the <br />Legislature amended the law last year about charging $.50 per copy and the <br />31 <br />
