They are our traffic <br /> safety and education specialists in the department. <br /> Since all of you have this handout, I 'm just gonna <br /> (inaudible) . <br /> BETHEA: Yes. <br /> VIERRA: The next section is the communications <br /> maintenance section. This section is supervised bya radio <br /> technician. This section essentially maintains and <br /> purchases all of our p o 1 i.c e radios . They are responsi- <br /> ble for the maintenance of all of our police stations and <br /> computer stations on this island and also on the island of <br /> Maui . We have one computer station on that island. <br /> The fiscal services division is under the command of <br /> a police inspector and is supervised by a business manager . <br /> They take care of all our department ' s budget and financial <br /> business . <br /> The last section is the records and identification <br /> section. It' s commanded by a police captain and is <br /> composed of a police lieutenant and several civilian clerks . <br /> They are essentially there to review all police reports , <br /> insure their completion and their thoroughness ; they handle <br /> all departmental correspondence pertaining to police cases . <br /> And they 're in charge of the custody and proper storage of <br /> evidence and (inaudible) property. <br /> Also falling under the purview of the records and <br /> identification section is our crime lab. As that will. <br /> indicate, three captains are responsible for the analysis <br /> of any evidence garnered by the police during their <br /> investigative process . <br /> Going onto the next bureau of the Hilo operations , <br /> that bureau is commanded, by a police inspector , and takes in <br /> the South Hilo patrol section. And with our criminal inves- <br /> tigation division, we can combine the criminal investigation <br /> section, juvenile section and our vice section. <br /> The criminal investigation section ' s responsible for <br /> all crimes of fraud, deathand violence. They investigate <br /> all felonies and major-.:crimes for the purpose of apprehend- <br /> ing, interrogating and prosecuting responsible persons <br /> and recovering stolen property. <br /> The juvenile aid section is commanded by the police <br /> lieutenant and they handle all crimes committed by <br /> juveniles, primarily status offenses such as truancy, <br /> juvenile runaway, child abuse and certain other minor <br /> related crimes . <br /> GREENWELL: Excuse me.
