To meet Federal goals as embodied in Federal legislation when ap- <br /> plicable to the personnel program of the County government. <br /> Programs: Employment, Employee Status Changes and Recordkeeping, <br /> Training, Wage and Salary Administration, Retirement, Employee-Employer <br /> Relations, Servicing the Civil Service Commission, Uniformity of Personnel <br /> Administration Throughout the State, Legislation, and Incentive and Service <br /> Awards. <br /> Additional assignments from the Mayor's Office are as follows: assignment <br /> to the Director to serve as a member on the Advisory Committee for the Center <br /> for Governmental Development; assignment to serve as an Equal Employment Op- <br /> portunity coordinator for the County of Hawaii;. assignment to serve as a <br /> member on the Hawaii County Ancillary Manpower Planning Board; assignment to <br /> serve on the Statewide IPA Advisory Commission; assignment to serve as a <br /> member on the Committee on the Status of Women; assignment to the Deputy to <br /> serve as the Mayor's representative in the collective bargaining process and <br /> as contracts administrator. <br /> The following is brief information on the activities of the more important <br /> programs in the Department. <br /> Employment: The employment function involves the total recruitment and <br /> screening process up to and including certification of eligibles. <br /> Open competitive examinations 35 <br /> Promotional examinations 52 <br /> Total examinations 87 <br /> Number of examinations conducted for <br /> other jurisdictions (total 549 applicants) 128 <br />
