<br />Communication Number 2018 - 11 <br />5. Some lay ers that look like single layers are <br />actually GROUPED LAYERS — e.g., Planning <br />Permits . By clicking the “+” to the left of <br />Planning Permits, you can see that it <br />consists of a group that includes Special <br />Permits, SMA_Major, SMA_Minor, Use <br />Permits, and Varia nces. Each can be <br />selected individually, but none will show up <br />unless Planning Permits is also checked. <br />Other grouped layers of interest include but <br />are not limited to Roads ; Ordinance, Memo, <br />etc.; Subd \ Consol \ Pre - Existing Lots; and <br />Other Zones and Subzo nes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />6. How to locate or FIND a feature. Example: <br />finding a parcel by TMK number. <br />a. If you have a TMK number and wish <br />to locate the property on the map, <br />here is an easy way. With the <br />“PARCELS” group open in <br />the Table of Contents, right - <br />click on “Parcels (labels)” or <br />“Parcels (boundary lines)” <br />❸ <br />then left - click “Find…” <br />❷ <br />b. T his will open up the “Find” <br />❶ <br />dialogue box with “Parcels <br />(labels)” or “Parcels <br />(boundary lines)” already <br />populating the “In” field ❶. <br />c. Type the TMK number, <br />❹ <br />beg inning with “3” for <br />Hawai‘i Island division, into <br />the “Find” field ❷. <br />d. Hit “Find” button ❸. <br />e. If there is a property with <br />the number you entered, it <br />will be listed in a box below ❹.
