Page 28 <br />1 originally, there was only Chapter 200, 201, 202, 203, <br />2 and now I've added Chapter 204. <br />3 So the purpose of this was twofold: It's to <br />4 include what was required or what is now required from <br />5 the charter concerning what your duties are, which is <br />6 to review and compensate all County elected officials <br />7 and board of directors and deputy directors, so that <br />8 their total salaries and benefits have a reasonable <br />9 relationship to compensation in the public and private <br />10 sectors. <br />11 So, what I added to that -- that's straight <br />12 from the charter. So what I added was "All salary <br />13 adjustment proposals shall be determined in accordance <br />14 with a plan adopted by the Commission, as amended, which <br />15 shall include at a minimum" -- and this part is also in <br />16 the charter -- "consultation with those boards and <br />17 commissions that have appointing authority for <br />18 department heads." <br />19 So, that's also included in your plan, to <br />20 consult with these people.
