FIRE CAPTAIN - 3 - 6.025 <br />• Conducts and oversees refresher training for departmental personnel. <br />• Schedules and conducts upgrading, annual, and road test audits. <br />• Establishes and maintains departmental driver training records and qualification <br />files. <br />• Schedules and conducts upgrading, annual, and road test audits. <br />• Establishes and maintains departmental driver training records and qualification <br />files. <br />• Schedules HFD/DOT medical examinations. <br />• Conducts periodic inspections of fire stations and maintenance shop to ensure <br />operations readiness of drivers. <br />• Participates in live fire exercises. <br />• May respond to multiple -company alarms to evaluate performance of Fire <br />Equipment Operators. <br />• Shall conduct investigations of vehicle accidents. <br />• May assist with the development of specifications for fire apparatus and/or <br />equipment. <br />• Performs other related duties as required. <br />Volunteer Training: <br />• Conducts monthly training drills with volunteer fire companies to include fire <br />fighting and rescue techniques, equipment and apparatus operations, and driver <br />training. <br />• Maintains training records for each volunteer unit. <br />• Conducts periodic inspections of the volunteer fire stations and equipment to <br />ensure proper maintenance and operational readiness. <br />• Participates in live fire exercises. <br />• May respond to brush fires, rescue calls, and local disasters to observe volunteer <br />fire company operations. <br />• Coordinates scheduling of maintenance and repairs for volunteer apparatus and <br />equipment. <br />• Coordinates biannual scheduling of DOT safety vehicles checks for all volunteer <br />units. <br />
