COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 92 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />91 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br />ATTORNEY TO AWARD FUNDS TO CHILD AND FAMILY SUPPORT <br />SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A) of the Hawaii <br />County Code (2005 Edition as amended) states, Grant awards in excess of $25,000 <br />to nonprofit organizations shall specifically identify the organization receiving the <br />grant funds and the purpose for which the grant funds shall be used in an ordinance <br />or resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-136(5) of the Hawaii County <br />Code states, "nonprofit organization" means an organization organized for other than <br />profit-making purposes and which has a current 501(c)3 tax -exemption from the <br />Internal Revenue Code; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 7, 2020, Resolution 744-20 was adopted authorizing <br />the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant of $40,000 to Child and <br />Family Support Services; and <br />WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney wishes to increase the <br />grant award and provide Child and Family Support Services an additional $10,000 of <br />federal funds received through a Victim of Crime Act (VOCA) grant; and <br />WHEREAS, Child and Family Support Services, which qualifies as a nonprofit <br />organization as defined above, will continue to provide shelter and support services <br />to domestic violence victims; now, therefore <br />
