JMS f OF <br />if <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII `* <br />'ITE 0•F.µ.l <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAI`I <br />SILL NO. 152 <br />(DRAFT 2 ) <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 5, ARTICLE 1, ARTICLE 4, AND ARTICLE <br />7, OF THE HAWAVI COUNTY CODE 1983 (2016 EDITION, AS AMENDED), <br />RELATING TO PRE -APPROVED PLANS FOR RESIDENTIAL DWELLINGS. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`I: <br />SECTION 1. Chapter 5, article 1, section 5-1-5 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2016 <br />Edition, as amended) is amended by adding a new definition to be appropriately inserted and to <br />read as follows: <br />""Multi -family dwelling" means any building that contains more than two dwelling <br />units used, intended, or designed to be built, used, rented, leased, let or hired out to be <br />occupied, or that are occu ied for living purposes." <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 5, article 4, division 2, section 5-4-21 of the Hawaii County Code <br />1983 (2016 Edition, as amended) is amended to read as follows; <br />"Section 5-4-21. [ ] Plans for [residential] dwellings; pre -approval. <br />(a) [Model plan] Plan pre -approval. <br />[Mom] Plans for [residential] dwellings and multi -family dwellings- may be <br />pre -approved by the authority having jurisdiction. The application process for a <br />permit that is based on [ine"] plans for [residential] dwellings or multi -family <br />dwellings that have been pre -approved and filed with the authority having <br />jurisdiction shall exclude the plan and specification review required in sections 5-4-1 <br />and 5-4-2. This exemption shall not apply to reviews by other appropriate <br />departments and divisions of the County and the State required pursuant to <br />[subsection] section 5-4-5. <br />(b) [Model home designsr] Pre -approved plans. <br />(1) Eligible [model i enie designs] plans shall have no limitation on size. <br />[9X_ee <br />A Paaxinmm of a two ear carper-LIgarage may be included.] <br />(2) [r „ s of plans that o mirrorey] Mirrored or reversed versions of <br />previously approved plans, will be considered to be separate and [an] <br />additional [mode" eme deli n] plans subject to paragraph (1) of this <br />subsection. <br />(3) Any revisions to pre -approved plans will require resubmittal of the entire set <br />of revised plans and documents for approval.
