~<V o/ M+~ <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> BILL NO. zsa <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 4 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 <br /> (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO ANIMALS <br /> BE IT OKDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. The purpose of this measure is to repeal chapter 4, Animals, Hawaii <br /> County Code, in its entirety and to establish a new chapter relating to animals. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 4, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended), is <br /> repealed in its entirety. <br /> SECTION 3. The Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as amended) is amcnded <br /> <br /> by adding a new chapter 4 to read as follows: <br /> "Chapter 4 <br /> ANIMALS <br /> Article I. Cockfighting and Related Equipment. <br /> Section 4-1. Prohibited. <br /> It is unlawful for any person to engage or participate in any cockfighting exhibition. <br /> Section 4-2. Gaffs or slashers prohibited. <br /> It is unlawful for any person to manufacture, buy, sell, barter, exchange or have in such <br /> <br /> person's possession any of the implements commonly known as gaffs or slashers, or any other <br /> sharp instrument designed to be attached in place of or to the natural spur of a gamecock or other <br /> fighting fowl. <br /> Section 4-3. Violation-penalty. <br /> Any person violating any provision of this article shall be punished by a tine of not less <br /> <br /> than $250 and not exceeding $1,000 or by imprisonment not exceeding thirty days, or by both. <br /> <br />
