COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />28 09 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO <br />NEGOTIATE A LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY IN HILO, TAX MAP KEY <br />(3) 2-2-020:014 (portion), TO THE CENTER OF INDEPENDENT LIVING <br />WHEREAS, Section 2- 120 (a)(2) provides that the Council of the County of <br />Hawaii may, by resolution approved by a majority of its members, direct the finance <br />director to negotiate the lease of real property to nonprofit organizations, at such rental <br />rates and on such terms and conditions as deemed proper; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 2-120 (b) provides such lease of real property to nonprofit <br />organizations may be made without the notice or appraisal as required in Chapter 2, <br />Article 19 of the Hawaii County Code; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawai'i's Aging and Disability Resource Cenfer <br />(ADRC) is designed to be a one-stop center for finding information on services for our <br />seniors and disabled community; and <br />WHEREAS, the ADRC, located at 1055 Kino`ole Street in Hilo, brings together <br />several County and private programs serving seniors and individuals with disabilities; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to lease approximately 608.5 square <br />feet of office space within the ADRC, identified as being a portion of Tax Map Key: <br />(3)2-2-020:014, to the Center for Independent Living, a nonprofit organization; and <br />WHEREAS, the Center for Independent Living will be providing support to the <br />Office of Aging regarding inquiries for those with disabilities. <br />
