This facility <br /> will serve the community by enabling farmers to process taro into poi and their vegetables <br /> into value added products, by being a distribution center with refrigerated storage facilities, <br /> and by having a place to hold meetings and classes. The funds, derived from the U.S. <br /> Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration, will be used to hire a <br /> contractor to develop the master plan. <br /> Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of <br /> Hawaii Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism for this grant. <br /> Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating <br /> this grant award. <br /> If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Department of Research and <br /> Development. <br /> <br /> ancy .
