CD October 31, 2013 �.1 --> HONORABLE CHAIRMAN J YOSHIMOTO : ,-) AND MEMBERS OF THE HAWAI'I COUNTY COUNCIL as • HAWAI'I COUNTY COUNCIL w =`` HILO HI 96720 ,c, SUBJECT: TRAFFIC CODE AMENDMENT: SECTION 24-281 - PARKING PROHIBITED DURING CERTAIN HOURS ON CERTAIN STREETS We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking), Section 24-281, Schedule 29 (Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets; tow-away zone), under (c) South Hilo be amended by deleting existing item and renumbering as required: (29) Wilson Street, except for northwest side, between Kilauea Avenue and Derby Lano, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The purpose of this measure is to update the Hawaii County Code to match the conditions that exist in the field. The subject area of Wilson Street between Kilauea Avenue and Derby Lane is too narrow for parking on both sides of the road. The southeast side is currently signed as a no parking at anytime zone. The northwest side is open to parking from just after 5:00 a.m. up to 10:00 p.m. We request the Hawai'i County Code, Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5 (Parking) Section 24-281, Schedule 29 (Parking prohibited during certain hours on certain streets; tow-away zone), under (c) South Hilo be amended by adding new item and renumbering as required: ( ) DERBY LANE, NORTHEAST SIDE, FROM A POINT TWENTY-SEVEN FEET NORTHWEST OF WILSON STREET TO A POINT FORTY-TWO FEET SOUTHEAST OF HOKU STREET, FROM 7:00 P.M.
