Chong <br /> of Kona to the Hawaii County Board of Ethics. Mr. Chong will <br /> replace Stephen G. Bess of Waimea, whose term expired on <br /> December 31, 1996. <br /> Mr. Chong is a 43-year resident of Hawaii and since 1989, has <br /> been the field representative of the Hawaii Carpenters Union. <br /> Prior to that, he was a carpenter with Pan Pacific Construction <br /> (1980-1989). He is active with the Ironman Triathlon, the West <br /> Hawaii workforce 2000, Konawaena Complex, School to Work <br /> Partnership Program, and previously served as the president of <br /> the Kona Jaycees.
