FIRM: The subject property is located within Zone X, area determined to be outside <br /> the 500-year flood plain. Similarly, the area is not within the tsunami inundation or <br /> high wave hazards. <br /> 22. Flora/Faunal and Archaeological Resources: Since the property has already been <br /> disturbed, the likelihood of any endangered flora and fauna or archaeological features are <br /> remote. <br /> 23. Surrounding Zoning/Land Uses: Surrounding properties are zoned RS-10 and mainly <br /> in single family residential uses. Single family dwellings surround the property to the <br /> north, east and south, and the Kilohana Oka Malamalama church is situated directly <br /> across from the subject property to the west. <br /> <br /> 24. Existing Commercial Areas: At the northern end of the Waiakea Houselots in the <br /> vicinity of the Hoolulu Park Complex, one half of the block area bounded by <br /> Mililani-Piilani-Kalanikoa-Hualani Streets has been zoned General Commercial <br /> (CG-7.5) since the adoption of the City of Hilo Zone Map in 1968. Since 1981, <br /> commercial activities have been developing from Piilani Street and moving southerly. <br /> The commercial establishments include retail stores, offices, and restaurants. <br /> Approximately 200 feet north of the subject property is the Hawaii Government <br /> Employees Association (HGEA) office. Commercial establishments approximately 500 <br /> feet to the north of the subject property on Piilani Street include the Manono Mini Mart <br /> and Hilo Hooganji Mission. Hawaii Campers, Isemoto Contracting, and Mina's <br /> Lounge are located approximately 600 - 800 feet to the north of the subject property. <br /> Approximately 700 feet to the southeast of the subject property is the future site of Big <br /> Island Candies, which was recently rezoned from RS-10 to CG-20 effective July 3, <br /> 1997. <br /> -4- <br /> <br />
