PUBLIC FACILITIES AND SERVICES <br /> 25. Access: Access to the subject property is from Manono Street, a County road with an <br /> approximate 20-foot wide pavement in good condition, with 2-foot wide paved <br /> shoulders, all within an approximate 50-foot right-of--way. A 5-foot future road <br /> widening setback is indicated on the property's frontage on Manono Street. <br /> 26. Water: Water is available to the subject property from an existing 5/8-inch meter and <br /> a maximum allotment of 600 gallons of water a day. According to the applicant, given <br /> the office use, the projected water use should not exceed the 600 gallons per day <br /> guidelines fora 5/8-inch meter. <br /> 27. Wastewater: A County sewer line fronts the subject property, to which the <br /> Department of Public Works requires a connection. According to the Department of <br /> Public Works, if drywells are included in the subject improvements, the applicant can <br /> apply for an Underground Injection Control (UIC) permit from the State Department of <br /> Health. <br /> <br /> 28. Solid Waste: According to the applicant, solid waste will be handled through a <br /> commercial hauler into authorized landfill sites. <br /> <br /> 29. Other Essential Utilities and Services: The subject property is within the City of Hilo <br /> limits and inclose proximity to police, fire protection and emergency medical services. <br /> Electricity and telephone aze available to the site. The subject property will be served <br /> by the Hilo Central Fire Station located on Kinoole Street or the 24-hour substation at <br /> Waiakea and supported by the substation on Kawailani Street. The Police <br /> Headquarters is located on Kapiolani Street, approximately two miles from the subject <br /> property. <br /> AGENCIES' COMMENTS <br /> 30. Department of Water Supply (August 1, 1997 Memo): <br /> "We have reviewed the subject application for a change of zone. <br /> "Please be informed that the property is serviced by an existing 5/8-inch meter and a <br /> maximum allotment of 600 gallons of water per day. Pursuant to Item 8-8 of Section <br /> VII of the Change of Zone Application, the anticipated maximum daily usage will be <br /> less than 600 gallons per day. <br /> -5- <br /> <br />
