<br /> August 20, 2007 <br /> Page 9 <br /> (4) The director or designated representative may waive this requirement <br /> when topographical data or evidence, submitted by a civil eneineer or <br /> land survevor currently licensed in the State of Hawaii, indicates that <br /> there is no apparent flood hazards to the proposed structure. This <br /> provision, i.e. subsection 27-18(c), upon approval of this ordinance, <br /> shall take effect on March 31, 2008." <br /> 12. In SECTION 12 bill 151 was chanced by deleting section 27-18.1. This new section, <br /> that was proposed in the initial draft of bill 151, was deleted because its contents were <br /> moved into section 27-18. <br /> 13. In SECTION 13, bill 151 was chanced by amending section 27-20 as follows: <br /> "Section 27-20. Standards for subdivisions and other developments. <br /> (a) Special flood hazazd areas. <br /> (1) All new subdivisions and other developments within areas of special <br /> flood hazazds n n n u n n v ^..a vv~] shall: <br /> [(I~] ~ Be consistent with the need to minimize flood damage; <br /> (~B Have public utilities and facilities, such as sewer, gas, <br /> electrical, and water systems, located and constructed to <br /> minimize flood damage; and <br /> [(3j] ~ Have adequate drainage provided to reduce exposure to <br /> flood damage. <br /> ~ All subdivision and other development applications in Zones A, AE, <br /> AH, AO, V, and VE shall identify the areas of special flood hazards <br /> and base flood elevations on the proposed site. If such information is <br /> not provided by the Flood Insurance Rate Maps, the director of public <br /> works shall request and the applicant shall provide such information. <br /> [(e~] ~ Finally approved subdivision plans for subdivisions within areas of <br /> special flood hazards shall provide base flood elevations for each of <br /> the lots. <br /> [(d~] ~ All new subdivisions and other developments within azeas designated <br /> as Zone A or general floodplain, or a flood-prone azea where special <br /> flood hazard areas have not been defined, water surface elevations <br /> have not been provided, and there is insufficient data to identify the <br /> floodway or coastal high hazard azeas but the floodplain administrator <br /> has determined that there aze indications that such hazards are present, <br /> shall comply with the following: <br /> [(F}] Be consistent with the need to minimize flood damage; <br /> <br />
