To support this grant initiative, the State Legislature has <br />approved the matching requirement for $1,600,000.00 (State Budget Bill, House Bill <br />2500, Section, 110.1.) <br />The FY 2007 Public Safety Interoperable Communications Grant is intended to provide <br />the County of Hawaii with enhanced interoperable communications with respect to voice, <br />data, and/or video signals. The program provides County of Hawaii with the opportunity <br />to achieve meaningful and measurable improvements to the state of public safety <br />communications interoperability. <br />The County of Hawaii will receive $1,275,000.00 with $300,000.00 in State funding for <br />the match requirement to administer the approved investment for Interoperable Channel, <br />Radio over Internet Protocol Interface and Data Channel. This investment will add one <br />island wide radio channel in the 22 repeater sites and enhance police and fire facilities <br />internal communication equipment. In addition, the investment will establish Radio over <br />Internet Protocol at multiple points and provide enhanced data connectivity by '" <br />establishing 15 T-1 lines from the DS3 microwave links that currently support the 2 <br />County Fire and Police Departments. <br />N <br />~: ~.:~; <br />~r <br />~~` <br />m <br /> <br />
