The FY 2008 HSGP <br />funds are provided to prevent, deter, respond to, and recover from threats and incidents of terrorism and it <br />supports the County of Hawaii in leveraging funding to support Homeland Security Initiatives. A total of <br />$1,095,461 was granted to the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency and are to be used for the continued <br />development of the State Homeland Security Program (SHSP) and the Citizen Corps Program (CCP). <br />Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State of Hawaii <br />Department of Defense, State Civil Defense for the State Homeland Security Program and the Citizen <br />Corp Program. <br />Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the funds into <br />these programs' accounts. <br />If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Civil Defense Agency. <br />V <br />William Taka a <br />Director of Finance <br />APPROVED: <br />~,~,~, <br />Harry Kim <br />W Mayor <br />Enc.
