<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> l <br /> ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN -2- <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> • Operates a motor vehicle to transport personnel and equipment; travels to various <br /> work sites in all districts. <br /> <br /> • Performs other related duties as assigned. <br /> <br /> Minimum Qualification Requirements: <br /> <br /> Training and Experience: A combination of education and experience <br /> substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with an <br /> AAS degree in Electronics Technology and two (2) years of journeylevel work <br /> experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of electronic <br /> equipment, instruments, or devices. <br /> <br /> Selective Certification: (Selective certification requirements must be established for <br /> each position to identify the pertinent field or program area necessary for the specialized <br /> experience requirement.) <br /> Specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities may be required to perform the <br /> duties of positions in this class. For such positions, certification may be restricted to <br /> eligibles who possess the pertinent experience and/or training required to perform the <br /> duties of the position. Departments requesting selective certification must show the <br /> V relationships between the specialized training and/or experience requested and the <br /> duties of the position to be filled. <br /> <br /> License Requirement: Possession of a valid State of Hawaii driver's license <br /> (Class 3) or any other valid comparable driver's license. <br /> <br /> Knowledge of: principles and theories of electricity and electronics as they <br /> apply to the installation, maintenance, repair, and calibration of electrical and <br /> electronic power and control systems; operation and maintenance of various testing <br /> and measuring equipment and devices; tools and instruments used in repairing <br /> electrical and electronic equipment; familiarity with principles of radio <br /> communications and the operations of a variety of radio and related equipment; <br /> operation and use of electronic computers and peripheral equipment; applicable <br /> governmental regulations; occupational hazards and safety practices. <br /> Ability to: interpret and prepare plans and schematic diagrams of electrical <br /> and electronic circuits; use testing and measuring equipment and devices in trouble <br /> shooting and diagnosing defects in electrical and electronic systems; operate <br /> electronic computer utilizing software applications applicable to operations; estimate <br /> time, labor, and material requirements; keep records; follow oral and written <br /> instructions; work with dexterity and safety. <br />
