<br /> <br /> a <br /> <br /> <br /> 8.069 <br /> DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> <br /> ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN <br /> BC 15; BU 01 <br /> <br /> Duties Summary: <br /> <br /> Installs, tests, maintains, repairs, and calibrates electronic components of power <br /> and control systems; designs and modifies electrical and electronic circuits to meet <br /> operational needs; and performs other related duties as required. <br /> <br /> Distinguishing Characteristics: <br /> <br /> This class is distinguished by its responsibility for the installation, testing, <br /> maintenance, repair, and calibration of electronic components of power and control <br /> systems and in the design and modification of electrical and electronic circuits to <br /> meet operational needs. <br /> Examples of Duties: )The following are examples of duties and are not necessarily descriptive <br /> of any one position in this class. The omission of specific duty statements does not preclude <br /> the assignment of such duties if they area logical assignment for the position and are <br /> consistent with the class concept.) <br /> <br /> • Inspects, installs, repairs, overhauls, and calibrates control systems and <br /> intercommunicating equipment such as sensing devices, transducers, amplifiers, <br /> transmitters, receivers, and recorders which utilize mechanical, hydraulic, <br /> pneumatic, thermal, chemical, electrical, and electronic components employing <br /> multiple function circuits, signal integration, digital to analog conversion, <br /> power/current (P/1) conversion, current/voltage (I/V) conversion, potted circuits, <br /> and solid state circuit boards. <br /> • Operates and maintains electrical, electronic, and other testing equipment. <br /> <br /> • Reads and interprets electrical and electronic plans and schematic diagrams. <br /> <br /> • Prepares schematic and wiring diagrams. <br /> • Designs and modifies electrical and electronic circuits to meet operational needs. <br /> <br /> • Adjusts, tests, services, maintains, and installs radio transmitters, receivers, and other <br /> communications equipment in vehicles and permanent locations as required. <br /> <br /> • May conduct periodic frequency, power, and modulation measurements of <br /> transmitters to ensure compliance with FCC requirements; may take field strength <br /> measurements to determine operational.coverage; and may monitor radio <br /> messages to ascertain clarity of messages. <br /> <br /> • Maintains records and prepares reports as required. <br /> Haivai'i County it an EquaCopportunity Provider and Emyfoyer. <br />
