Bill No. 210 <br /> Page -2- <br /> Communication No. 709.5, transmitted by J Yoshimoto, Council Chair, dated March 4, 2010, <br /> requesting to place Bill No. 210, Draft 2, on the next scheduled Committee on Public Safety and <br /> Parks and Recreation meeting. <br /> Council Member Brenda Ford expressed the following concerns: <br /> • Maintenance of water spigots <br /> • Transfer of o from Civil Defense Department to the Department of Public Works <br /> • Transfer of funds <br /> • Penalty amount of $1,000.00 <br /> Civil Defense Administrator Quince Mento stated that maintenance of the water spigots will be <br /> done by the Department of Public Works. He also stated that the funding will be transferred into <br /> the budget for Public Works. <br /> Mr. Quirino Antonio, Deputy Director of the Department of Water Supply stated that DWS will <br /> maintain the waterline all the way up to the meter. <br /> Public Works Director Warren Lee stated that his department will maintain the spigots and areas <br /> around it. <br /> Council Member Brenda Ford stated that the penalty of $1,000 in Section 7 -8 is inserted as a <br /> deterrent to keep people from abusing the use of the spigots.
