Increases revenues of $23,736 in the Federal Grants - Specialized Investigative <br />Training Account; and appropriates the same amount to the Police Department’s <br />Specialized Investigative Training Grant Account. The grant’s purpose is to improve the <br />Police Department’s ability to respond to violent crimes against women through ongoing <br />specialized training for the Juvenile Aid Section detectives. <br /> <br /> <br />Comm. 168: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 16, SECTION 2-101.1 OF <br />(Bill 45) THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING <br />TO MILEAGE AND MEAL REIMBURSEMENTS FOR VOLUNTEER POLICE <br />PERSONNEL <br />From Finance Director Nancy E. Crawford, dated April 6, 2011, transmitting the above <br />bill. The meal allowance for non-overnight travel for County employees is being <br />eliminated by repealing Section 2-96. To maintain this benefit for volunteer Police <br />personnel, that reference is being specified in Section 2-101.1. <br /> <br /> <br />Comm. 169: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10-60, AS AMENDED, <br />(Bill 46) RELATING TO PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2010 TO JUNE 30, 2011 <br />From Finance Director Nancy E. Crawford, dated April 6, 2011, transmitting the above <br />bill. This bill adds the Research and Development, Pa‘auilo Plant and Slaughterhouse <br />project for $4.15 million to the Capital Budget. This project will increase processing <br />capacity of grass-fed beef by allowing local cattle producers to finish their product <br />on-island, rather than exporting to the mainland for final processing. It also will address <br />ongoing waste management issues through the conversion of waste materials into useful <br />by-products. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Comm. 111: AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH AN OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY <br />(Bill 29) OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 2011 TO JUNE 30, 2012 <br /> From Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated March 1, 2011, transmitting for consideration the <br /> proposed Operating Budget for the County of Hawai‘i for the Fiscal Year July 1, 2011 to <br /> June 30, 2012.
