Adds the Mass Transit Agency Waimea Transit Hub project for $500,000 to the Capital Budget. The County is in need of a transit hub in the Waimea area as it is midway between Hilo and Kailua-Kona and is also a direct link to the Kohala Coast Resort nodes. Comm. 438: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 41, SECTION 2-208, (Bill 130) SECTION 2-209, AND SECTION 2-210 OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO THE DISASTER AND EMERGENCY FUND From Council Member Brenda J. Ford, dated October 17, 2011. The purpose of this ordinance is to accumulate sufficient supplemental financial resources to respond to public health and safety emergencies, and to rebuild, repair, or replace County facilities and infrastructure damaged by natural or human-caused disasters or emergency events. Comm. 440: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO (Res. 185-11) AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A WORKING TOWARDS CRIME LAB ACCREDITATION GRANT FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT; and (Bill 131) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated October 19, 2011, transmitting the above resolution and bill. The resolution authorizes Working Towards Crime Lab Accreditation Grant, and the bill appropriates revenues of $13,300 in the Federal Grants – Working Towards Crime Lab Accreditation account; and appropriates same to the Working Towards Crime Lab Accreditation Grant account. These funds will be used for training, equipment, and services to increase the overall efficiency and safety of forensic services.
