All <br />vehicular traffic shall move only in the Southerly (mauka) direction from Māmane Street to <br />Kamani Street between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 2:30 3:00 p.m. on school days only.” This <br />amendment revises the end time of the temporary one way traffic pattern on Pakalana Street to <br />match the Honoka‘a Elementary School, Honoka‘a Intermediate School, and Honoka‘a High <br />School end time. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Comm. 695: AMENDS CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 5 OF THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY <br />(Bill 248) CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO PARKING <br />Amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, Section 24-280, Schedule 28 (No parking at <br />anytime), subsection (c), South Hilo, by adding a new item: “( ) East Puainako Street, south <br />side, from Pilipaa Street to Ohuohu Street.” This amendment fulfills a request to enhance <br />vehicular and pedestrian safety in the area. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Comm. 696: GRANTS A VARIANCE FROM CHAPTER 3, SECTIONS 3-58(a)(5)(C), <br />(Res. 249-12) 3-58(c)(1), AND 3-59(a)(4) HAWAI’I COUNTY CODE (1983) 2005 EDITION, TO <br />ALLOW ONE WALL SIGN ON 74-5488 KAIWI STREET, TMK NUMBER: <br />(3)7-4-015:010 (ZONED MG-1a, KAILUA VILLAGE SPECIAL DESIGN DISTRICT) <br />The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is requesting a sign variance for a wall sign. The <br />subject property is a retail commercial/office building located at 74-5488 Kaiwi Street, <br />Kailua-Kona, which has in excess of 120 linear feet of frontage along Kaiwi Street. The <br />proposed sign will be placed on the building wall approximately 14 feet above ground level <br />along the Kaiwi Street frontage. <br /> <br />Comm. 697: URGES THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO <br />(Res. 250-12) CONSTRUCT A DESIGNATED PEDESTRIAN CROSSING AREA FOR THE <br />VOLCANO VILLAGE COMMUNITY ACROSS MĀMALAHOA HIGHWAY, <br />COMMONLY KNOWN AS HIGHWAY 11 OR THE HAWAI‘I BELT ROAD <br />The State and County have a strong interest in promoting more healthy and economical <br />transportation options for Hawai‘i Island residents, such as walking and public transportation <br />and, therefore, should encourage and provide the necessary infrastructure to support these goals. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
