These funds, donated <br />by the Big Island Farm Fair, will be used by the Department of Parks and Recreation to <br />help pay for parks maintenance operations. <br />Comm. 19: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT <br />(Res. 16 -13) WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, <br />PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT'S <br />SAFE PROGRAM; and <br />(Bill 5) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated December 4, 2012. The State of Hawaii <br />Department of the Attorney General is providing $52,068 to the Hawaii County Police <br />Department's Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner (SAFE) program. The resolution <br />authorizes the agreement between the State and County. The bill appropriates revenues <br />$52,068 in the in Federal Grants — SAFE Grant account; and appropriates same to Police <br />Department's SAFE Grant account. These funds will be used to contract an agency to <br />oversee, coordinate and perform services of the Hawaii County Police Department's <br />SAFE program. <br />Comm. 20: AUTHORIZES THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT <br />(Res. 17 -13) WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, <br />PURSUANT TO HRS 46 -7, FOR A GRANT TO IMPROVE FORENSIC SCIENCE <br />SERVICES FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT; and <br />(Bill 6) AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET <br />FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated December 4, 2012. The State of Hawaii <br />Department of the Attorney General is providing $26,048 to the Hawaii County Police <br />Department to be used towards improving an enhancing the quality of its forensic science <br />services. These funds will be used to train laboratory personnel and to purchase <br />equipment to assist in gathering and processing forensic evidence. The resolution <br />authorizes the agreement between the State and County. The bill appropriates revenues <br />$26,048) in the Federal Grants — Improve Forensic Services; account; and appropriates <br />same to Police Departments Improve Forensic Services account. <br />Comm. 21: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12 -86, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING BUDGET <br />(Bill 7) FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2013 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated December 4, 2012. Increases revenues in <br />the Federal Grants — Speed Enforcement Grant ($2,991) account; and appropriates same <br />to the Police Department's Speed Enforcement Grant account. These funds will be used <br />to allow the Hawaii County Police Department to purchase two additional Stealth Speed <br />Data Collector units. <br />
