The property is located at the northwest <br /> corner of Mohouli Street and Komohana Street in the Waiakea Cane Lots, Waiakea, South Hilp <br /> Hawai`i. <br /> The Commission concurs with the following Planning Director's reasons for recommending favorable <br /> consideration of the request: <br /> The applicant, the Hawai`i Island Community Development Corporation(HICDC), is <br /> requesting a State Land Use Boundary Amendment from Agricultural to Urban for 6.569 <br /> acres of land, which is the future site of Phase 3 of the Mohouli Senior Neighborhood Project. <br /> The applicant is currently requesting a State Land Use Boundary Amendment from <br /> Agricultural to Urban for 6.569 acres of land to continue developing 92-units affordable <br /> senior housing units as Phase 3 of the Mohouli Heights Senior Neighborhood Project, which <br /> aims to provide affordable housing and related senior services on four adjoining parcels in <br /> South Hilo, which were made available by Governor's Executive Order No. 4224. Phase 1 of <br /> the project consisted of 60-units and was completed in 2014. Phase 2 consisted of 30-units <br /> and received final inspection in October 2017.
