AH SING <br /> From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated August 28, 1998, <br /> submitting for confirmation, the nomination of Derrick S. Ah Sing <br /> ofPahoa to the Hawaii County Veterans Advisory Committee. <br /> Mr. Ah Sing is a disabled veteran and was retired from the U. S. <br /> Navy, and is being recommended by and will be representing the <br /> local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to serve <br /> the unexpired term of Mr. Toribio Francisco of Hamakua who has <br /> resigned, ending on December 31, 2000. <br /> Comm. 974: APPOINTMENT TO THE HAWAB COUNTY <br /> TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION- SOPHIE T. KELLER <br /> From Mayor Stephen K. Yamashiro, dated September 2, 1998, <br /> submitting for confirmation, the nomination of Sophie T. Keller of <br /> Council District 5 to the Hawaii County Transportation <br /> Commission. Ms. Keller, a 5-year resident and a registered nurse, <br /> has been working as a private practitioner in acupuncture since <br /> 1994. She is also a foster parent under the auspices of the Child <br /> Protective Services, and is a volunteer with several community <br /> groups working with the elderly and the disabled. She is not a <br /> member of any political party. Ms. Keller will represent Council <br /> District 5, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of l.ee <br /> Robbins, and will serve the unexpired term ending on <br /> December 31, 1999. <br /> <br />
