Hawai‘i County Council-2 December 19, 2012 <br /> <br />BILLS FOR ORDINANCES (FIRST READING) <br /> <br /> <br />Bill 313 ( Draft 2): AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 12-87, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PUBLIC <br />(2010-2012) IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />JULY 1, 2012 TO JUNE 30, 2013 <br />Adds Department of Parks and Recreation: Multi-Purpose Event Center ($500,000); <br />funds shall be provided from General Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund-Fund <br />Balance and/or Other Sources ($500,000). Funds will be used by the Office of Aging to continue <br />implementation of the Aging Disability Resource Center (ADRC) program. <br /> <br /> Re: Comm. 905 <br /> Intr. by: Ms. Ford (B/R) <br /> Approve: FC-276 <br /> <br />Bill 10: <br />AUTHORIZES THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION REFUNDING <br />BONDS OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE PURPOSE OF REFUNDING <br />CERTAIN OUTSTANDING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS AND NOTES; <br />FIXING THE FORM, DENOMINATIONS, AND CERTAIN OTHER DETAILS OF <br />SUCH REFUNDING BONDS AND PROVIDING FOR THEIR SALE TO THE <br />PUBLIC; PROVIDING FOR THE RETIREMENT OF THE BONDS TO BE <br />REFUNDED; AND AUTHORIZES THE TAKING OF OTHER ACTIONS <br />RELATING TO THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF THE REFUNDING BONDS AND <br />THE RETIREMENT OF THE BONDS TO BE REFUNDED <br /> <br />Authorizes the issuance of general obligation refunding bonds, not to exceed 60,000,000 <br />for the purpose of refinancing outstanding County debt in the form of bonds that were <br />issued and loans that were acquired at higher interest rates.
