The State Department of Transportation Public Affairs Office-Safe Community Program is providing this grant to promote safe pedestrian behavior and to reduce traffic congestion in Kealakehe. Comm. 431: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 01-55, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 142) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2002 (Appropriating a $102,000 Violent Crime Unit Grant from the State Department of the Attorney General Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division); and (Res. 148-01) RESOLUTION CREATING TWO (2) POLICE EVIDENCE SPECIALIST I (TEMPORARY) POSITIONS FOR THE HAWAII COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 9, 2001, transmitting the above bill and resolution. The grant funds will be used to create a Violent Crime Unit by hiring and training two evidence specialists and the construction of an evidence storage. These SR-18 positions will be filled on a limited term basis in accordance to availability of funds from the aforementioned Violent Crime Unit Grant and are expected to supplement the crime lab and detective staff. Comm. 433: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 01-55, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 143) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2002 (Appropriating a $818,306 COPS More01 Grant provided by the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policingt Services) From Director of Finance William Takaba, dated November 20, 2001, transmitting the above bill. The grant funds will be used to acquire equipment and consulting services for the Police Department's new Record Management System.
