PW&PC-42 Page 4 October 20, 1998 Comm. 231.01: From Cynthia Taylor, President, Fern Acres Community Association, dated September 9, 1997, transmitting a copy of a survey which showed an overwhelming response for the 25 mph speed limit within Fern Acres, and therefore, requests that Bill 240 be considered. Comm. 231.02: From Deputy Chief Engineer Jiro A. Sumada, dated October 6, 1998, requesting that Bill No. 240 be withdrawn from further action. Informs the Council recently adopted Ordinance No. 98- 97, clarifying the State law enabling the counties to impose and enforce traffic regulations on private streets. Based on this Ordinance, the Department of Public Works, Traffic Division, submitted a traffic code amendment bill to establish separate schedules for public and private streets. States they will contact and work with the Fern Acres representative to resubmit a new bill for their subdivision after the ordinance separating the schedules for public and private streets is adopted.
