FC-19 Page 2 October 4, 2011 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />(Bill 103) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE <br />OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 22, 2011, transmitting the <br />above resolution and bill. The resolution authorizes an agreement with the State to <br />accept the Tobacco Sting grant; and the bill appropriates the funds of $8,000 in the State <br />Grants - Department of Health - Tobacco Sting account, and appropriates same to the <br />Police Department’s Department of Health - Tobacco Sting account. These funds will be <br />used to assign six plainclothes enforcement officers to observe purchase attempts by <br />minors and to cite any retail store for illegal sale to a minor. <br /> <br />Comm. 374: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO <br />(Res. 161-11) AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAI‘I DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A DISTRACTED DRIVING <br />PROJECT GRANT FOR THE HAWAI‘I COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT; and <br /> <br />(Bill 104) AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE <br />OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 22, 2011, transmitting the <br />above resolution and bill. The resolution authorizes an agreement with the State to <br />accept the Distracted Driving Project grant; and the bill appropriates the funds of <br />$25,278.40 in the Federal Grants - Distracted Driving Project account, and appropriates <br />same to the Police Department’s Distracted Driving account. These funds will be used to <br />prevent “any non-driving activity a person engages in that has the potential to distract <br />him or her from the primary task of driving and increase the risk of crashing.” <br /> <br />Comm. 375: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE <br />(Bill 105) OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 22, 2011. The bill increases <br />revenues of $5,000 in the Federal Grants - Traffic Investigation Program account, and <br />appropriates same to the Police Department’s HCPD Traffic Investigation Program <br />account, bringing the total appropriation to $20,000. These funds will be used to allow <br />two additional officers to attend Advance Traffic Reconstruction Training in Honolulu. <br /> <br />Comm. 376: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 11-59, AS AMENDED, THE <br />(Bill 106) OPERATING BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I FOR THE FISCAL YEAR <br />ENDING JUNE 30, 2012 <br />From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated September 22, 2011. The bill increases <br />revenues of $19,050 in the Federal Grants - Speed Enforcement Grant account, and <br />appropriates same to the Police Department’s Speed Enforcement account, bringing the <br />total appropriation to $98,050. These funds will be used to purchase an on-site 350 <br />Radar Trailer; a Dell Computer and two Stalker Brand Radar Speed units. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
