<br />Hawai‘i County Council-55 September 19, 2012 <br /> <br />Res. 297-12 (Draft 2): URGES HAWAI‘I ELECTRIC LIGHT COMPANY (HELCO) TO RENEGOTIATE ITS <br />PURCHASE POWER AGREEMENT CONTRACTS WITH ALL INDEPENDENT <br />POWER PRODUCERS USING RENEWABLE RESOURCES SO THAT THE COST TO <br />THE CONSUMER IS NOT BASED ON AVOIDED COSTS <br />Urges HELCO to renegotiate its Purchase Power Agreement contracts with all <br />independent power producers using renewable resources so that pricing is not based on <br />avoided costs to ensure that the residents of Hawai‘i County receive increased savings on <br />their electric bills. Further states that HELCO shall appear before the Council at its <br />meeting scheduled on October 17, 2012, to report the results of their efforts to <br />renegotiate its Purchase Power Agreements with all independent renewable energy <br />producers. <br /> <br /> Re: Comm. 822.3 <br /> Intr. by: Mr. Yoshimoto <br /> Approve: AWESC-4 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Res. 301-12: APPROVES AND ADOPTS A CORRECTED MAP OF THE SPECIAL <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO BE CONSTRUCTED OR IMPROVED, TOGETHER WITH <br />FINAL DETAILS, AND PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR A WATER <br />DELIVERY SYSTEM FOR THE KONA OCEAN VIEW PROPERTIES <br />SUBDIVISION <br />On August 3, 2011, the Council adopted Resolution No. 99-11 which is a resolution of <br />determination to create and define a water system improvement district for the Kona <br />Ocean View Properties Subdivision. Resolution No. 99-11 directs the Manager of the <br />Department of Water Supply to prepare a corrected map showing the exact location of <br />the improvements referenced as the “Kona Ocean View Properties Water System <br />Improvements” (Exhibit A) as well as with the final details, plans, and specifications for <br />the work to readily permit and encourage competition between contractors in the calling <br />of bids and awarding of a contract for the special improvements referenced as Job No. <br />1008-934, “Invitation for Bids” (Exhibit B).
