Kona Adult Day Center, Inc. <br /> Agency Profile, Page 4 <br /> * Staff participated in many outreach projects within the community to promote KADC. <br /> These included speaking before Hawaii Island United Way volunteers,an <br /> information booth at the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk, King <br /> Kamehameha Beach Hotel, and an information table at the Kona Surf Resort <br /> for HIUW campaign,targeting all hotel employees. <br /> Challenges Encountered 1995 <br /> Cuts! Cuts! Cuts! Tuition funding from Department of Human Services, Case <br /> Management Coordination Project, Nursing Home Without Walls, and Services for Seniors has <br /> been cut dramatically, creating a challenge for the low-income and severely disabled clients to <br /> attend day care. Problems lead to innovative thinking and that is just what the KADC staff is <br /> doing to make it possible for participants to come to the Center. <br /> 11. Membership Dues: Membership is not considered dues but is considered a fundraising <br /> contribution. Members are referred to as "Friends of Kona Adult Day Center". Participants of the <br /> Center are not considered members. <br /> 12. Trade Affiliation: The Kona Adult Day Center is a free-standing adult day care facility <br /> and holds no affiliation with a national or statewide organization. <br /> 13. Benefits of Trade Affiliation: Not applicable. <br />
