This <br /> district will also provide a vehicle to satisfy the demand for a rural lifestyle on <br /> marginal agricultural land, while decreasing the pressure to develop important <br /> agricultural land for this purpose. The planning approach would establish a continuity <br /> in land uses and designs, while providing for the needed infrastructural facilities and <br /> systems to support the various types of agricultural developments. <br /> The Change of Zone request from Agricultural-5 acres (A-Sa) to Agricultural <br /> Project District (APD) will conform to the following goals, policies and standards of <br /> the General Plan Land Use and Agriculture Elements: <br /> Land Use <br /> o Designate and allocate land uses in appropriate proportions and mix and in <br /> keeping with the social, cultural and physical environments of the County. <br /> o Protect and encourage the intensive utilization of the County's important <br /> agricultural lands. <br /> o Zoning request shall be reviewed with respect to General Plan designation, <br /> district goals, regional plans, State Land Use District, compatibility with <br /> adjacent zone uses, availability of public services and utilities, access, and <br /> public need. <br /> agriculture <br /> o Zoning shall protect and maintain important agricultural lands from urban <br /> encroachment.
