The Food Basket, Inc., serves as Hawai‘i Island’s Food Bank and is an island-wide nonprofit food network that collects and distributes food to low income families, the ill and disabled, senior citizens, children’s programs, and other charitable nonprofit organizations. The current demand of food has caused an emergency shortfall in food supplies at the Food Basket’s two warehouses.
