Hawaii County Council-20 Page 11 August 5, 2009 Res. 198-09A: Authorizes the Mayor to Enter Into an Agreement with the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources, Legacy Land Conservation Commission, and to Accept Funds for the Acquisition of Kawa, District of Ka`u, Island of Hawaii. {On October 10, 2007, the County applied for funding by grant from the aforementioned Commission for the acquisition of Kawa. The Commission approved the application and granted the amount of $1,500,000 to the County, which was approved by the Board of Land and Natural Resources on May 9, 2008.
