Hawai`i County Council -46 <br />Bill 277: <br />Bill 278: <br />Bill 279: <br />Page 6 August 18, 2010 <br />Amends Chapter 24 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), <br />Relating to Vehicles and Traffic. {Amends Article 10, Division 4, Section 24 -278, <br />Schedule 26 (roads closed to pedestrian traffic), Subsection (f), Kona, by adding, <br />"Haleki`i Street, from the Mamalahoa Bypass Highway intersection to a point <br />0.76 mile in the easterly direction." and "Mamalahoa Bypass Highway, from the <br />Ali`i Drive intersection to the Haleki`i Street intersection. "} <br />Re: Comm. 891 <br />Intr. by: Mr. Enriques <br />Approve: PWIRC -87 <br />Amends Chapter 24 of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as Amended), <br />Relating to Vehicles and Traffic. {Amends Article 10, Division 8, Section 24 -293, <br />Schedule 41 (use of certain streets by certain vehicles restricted), Subsection (f), <br />Kona, to read, "(1) Vehicles having a gross vehicle weight rating of three or more <br />tons shall not be permitted to use the hereinafter designated streets. These <br />provisions shall not be applicable to local area origin/destination traffic and vehicles <br />providing services to residents of the hereinafter designated streets. Further, these <br />restrictions shall be lifted during the period of any emergency declared by the civil <br />defense agency. (A) Haleki`i Street in the South Kona District. (B) Kupuna Street <br />in the North Kona District. (C) Lako Street in the North Kona District. <br />(D) Mamalahoa Bypass Highway in the North Kona District. (E) Mamalahoa <br />Bypass Highway in the South Kona District. (F) Manawa Street in the South Kona <br />District. (G) Nape Street in the South Kona District. (2) Vehicles having a gross <br />vehicle weight rating of five or more tons shall not be permitted to use the <br />hereinafter designated streets. These provisions shall not be applicable to local area <br />origin/destination traffic and vehicles providing services to residents of the <br />hereinafter designated streets. Further, these restrictions shall be lifted during the <br />periods of any emergency declared by the civil defense agency. <br />(A) Kaiminani Drive in the North Kona District. (3) Bicycles, mopeds, and motor <br />scooters shall not be permitted to use the hereinafter designated streets: <br />(A) Haleki`i Street in the South Kona District, from the Mamalahoa Bypass <br />Highway to a point four thousand feet in the easterly direction. (B) Mamalahoa <br />Bypass Highway in the North Kona District. (C) Mamalahoa Bypass Highway in <br />the South Kona District.
